Day 1 — Start with the Foundation

Scripture

Luke 6:47–48 (NIV)
Psalm 127:1 (NIV)

Reflection

Every building begins with a foundation, even though it's the part no one sees. Jesus teaches that a life built on His words can withstand the storms that inevitably come. Psalm 127 reminds us that our efforts alone are never enough. Lasting strength comes from building with God, not simply working harder.

Questions

What is my life most firmly built on?

Where have I been relying on my own strength?

What would it look like to build with Jesus today?

How can I make time to hear His voice this week?

Prayer

Father, thank You for being the only foundation that never fails. Help me build every part of my life on You and trust You with each step I take. Amen.

Day 2 — What Lies Beneath?

Scripture

1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)
Psalm 139:23–24 (NIV)

Reflection

People often notice what others can see, but God lovingly looks deeper. He knows our motives, fears, and struggles, and He invites us to bring them into the light. Real growth begins when we're honest with Him about what's happening beneath the surface.

Questions

What have I been trying to hide from God?

Are there attitudes or habits that need His attention?

What would honesty with God look like today?

How is He inviting me to grow?

Prayer

Breath Prayer:

As you slow down today, invite God to examine your heart with grace.

Inhale: Search me, Lord

Exhale: Make me more like You

Day 3 — Christ Is the Cornerstone

Scripture

Ephesians 2:19–22 (NIV)
Acts 4:11–12 (NIV)

Reflection

Every building needs a point of alignment. Scripture says Jesus is our cornerstone—the One everything else is measured by. When our choices, priorities, and relationships are aligned with Him, we begin to experience the steady life He wants for us.

Questions

What has been shaping my decisions lately?

Is Jesus truly the center of my life?

Where do I need to realign my priorities?

What is one step of obedience I can take today?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for being my firm foundation. Help me align every part of my life with You and trust You more each day. Amen.

Day 4 — Storms Reveal Our Foundation

Scripture

Matthew 7:24–25 (NIV)
Isaiah 26:3–4 (NIV)

Reflection

Storms don't create our foundation—they reveal it. Jesus says the wise person isn't the one who avoids difficulty but the one who has learned to trust Him before the storm arrives. As we keep our minds fixed on God, He gives us a peace that holds steady even when life feels uncertain.

Questions

What has a recent challenge revealed about my foundation?

Where have I been depending on myself?

How has God shown His faithfulness during difficult seasons?

What would trusting Him look like this week?

Prayer

Breath Prayer:

Whenever you feel overwhelmed today, return to this simple reminder of God's faithfulness.

Inhale: Faithful Savior

Exhale: You hold me steady

Day 5 — Keep Building with Jesus

Scripture

Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
Colossians 2:6–7 (NIV)

Reflection

Following Jesus isn't about reaching perfection overnight. It's about continuing to grow, one faithful step at a time. The same God who began His work in you is committed to finishing it, strengthening your roots as you continue walking with Him.

Questions

How have I seen God growing me recently?

What daily habit could help deepen my relationship with Jesus?

Who encourages me to keep following Him?

What next step is God inviting me to take?

Prayer

God of hope, thank You for continuing Your work in my life. Keep growing my faith and help me stay rooted in Jesus, trusting that You are faithful every step of the way. Amen.

As you spend time with God this week, remember that a stronger foundation is built one faithful step at a time. If you're in Tallahassee, we'd love to have you join us this Sunday as we continue following Jesus together.
