Day 1 — Pruning Isn’t Rejection

Scripture

John 15:1–2
Hebrews 12:10–11
Isaiah 43:2

Reflection

Pruning can feel uncomfortable. Sometimes God removes distractions, habits, or even seasons we’ve grown attached to, and it’s easy to mistake that for distance or punishment.

But Jesus says the Father prunes the branches He cares about. Pruning isn’t rejection—it’s preparation for growth. God cuts away what keeps us from becoming who He created us to be.

Questions

Where have I experienced change or discomfort recently?

Could God be using this season to grow something deeper in me?

What am I holding onto that may be limiting growth?

Prayer

Father, help me trust You in seasons that feel uncomfortable.
Give me peace knowing that You are shaping my life with purpose and care.

Day 2 — Staying Connected

Scripture

John 15:4–5
Psalm 1:1–3
Colossians 2:6–7

Reflection

Healthy fruit doesn’t come from striving harder. It comes from staying connected.

Jesus reminds us that branches cannot survive disconnected from the vine. In the same way, we can stay busy, productive, and distracted while slowly becoming spiritually dry inside. Real life grows from daily connection with Him.

Questions

What tends to pull my attention away from God?

When do I feel most spiritually disconnected?

What helps me stay grounded and connected to Jesus?

Prayer

Breath Prayer:
Carry this prayer with you whenever your mind feels overwhelmed or distracted.
Inhale: Jesus my source
Exhale: Keep me close

Day 3 — What Is My Life Producing?

Scripture

Galatians 5:22–23
Matthew 7:16–18
James 3:17–18

Reflection

Jesus says fruit reveals what we’re connected to. Over time, our attitudes, reactions, and priorities begin to show what’s shaping us beneath the surface.

The fruit of the Spirit isn’t something we fake or force. It grows naturally when we remain connected to Jesus. Love, patience, peace, gentleness, and self-control become evidence of God working within us.

Questions

Which fruit of the Spirit feels strongest in my life right now?

Which fruit feels weakest or most difficult?

What might my current “fruit” reveal about where I’ve been rooted?

Prayer

God of grace, grow in me what I cannot produce on my own.
Help my life reflect Your love in the way I speak, react, and care for others.

Day 4 — Trust the Pruning

Scripture

Hebrews 12:11
Romans 5:3–5
2 Corinthians 4:16–17

Reflection

Growth rarely feels easy in the moment. Most of us naturally resist discomfort, delays, or seasons where life feels uncertain.

But Scripture reminds us that God’s shaping work eventually produces peace and maturity. What feels painful today may become part of the strength God develops in you tomorrow.

Questions

What difficult season have I been resisting lately?

How could God be using this season to shape me?

What would trusting Him look like right now?

Prayer

Breath Prayer:
Use this prayer when life feels uncertain or difficult to understand.
Inhale: Faithful Father
Exhale: I trust Your work

Day 5 — Fruit That Feeds Others

Scripture

Matthew 5:16
John 15:8
Philippians 1:9–11

Reflection

Fruit isn’t just for us. Healthy fruit nourishes the people around us.

When God grows patience, kindness, peace, and love in our lives, others experience it too. The way we live can become an invitation for someone else to move closer to Jesus.

Your life matters more than you realize.

Questions

Who around me needs encouragement right now?

How can my life reflect Jesus in practical ways this week?

What is one small way I can intentionally love someone today?

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for patiently growing me.
Help my life point people toward Your goodness this week.
Teach me to stay connected to You every day.

As you move through this week, remember that growth takes time.
God is patient with you—and He’s still at work.

If you’re in Tallahassee, we’d love for you to join us Sunday as we continue following Jesus together.
