Day 1 — What Are You Really Feeding?

Scripture

John 6:27 (NIV) "Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."

Matthew 4:4 (NIV) "Jesus answered, 'It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

Reflection

You never miss meals—but it’s easy to miss God. Jesus points out that we naturally prioritize what fills us physically, while often neglecting what fills us spiritually. The question isn’t if you’re feeding your life—it’s what you’re feeding it with.

Questions

What do I consistently make time for every day? Where does time with God actually fall in my priorities? What am I feeding my mind and heart most right now?

Prayer

Father, help me notice what I’m feeding my life with. Redirect my attention toward what truly satisfies. Teach me to come to You daily.

Day 2 — Daily Dependence

Scripture

Deuteronomy 8:3 (NIV) "He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord."

Psalm 145:15–16 (NIV) "The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing."

Reflection

God didn’t give the Israelites a lifetime supply of food—He gave them just enough for each day. Why? Because He wanted relationship, not independence. In the same way, spiritual growth doesn’t come from occasional moments—it comes from daily dependence.

Questions

Where do I try to be self-sufficient instead of depending on God? What would it look like to rely on God today—not just in theory? What keeps me from slowing down and spending time with Him?

Prayer

Breath Prayer: Let this prayer bring you back to God throughout your day.

Inhale: Daily Provider

Exhale: I depend on You

Day 3 — What Actually Satisfies?

Scripture

John 6:35 (NIV) "Then Jesus declared, 'I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.'"

Psalm 107:9 (NIV) "For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things."

Reflection

We chase a lot of things hoping they’ll satisfy—success, comfort, distraction. But Jesus makes a bold claim: He’s the only one who actually fills that deeper hunger. Everything else fades fast.

Questions

What do I turn to when I feel empty or stressed? Does it actually satisfy—or just distract? What would it look like to go to Jesus first instead?

Prayer

Jesus, You are the bread of life. Help me come to You instead of settling for things that don’t last. Teach me to trust that You are enough.

Day 4 — The Pull of Distraction

Scripture

Luke 14:18 (NIV) "But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, 'I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.'"

Matthew 6:33 (NIV) "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

Reflection

The people in Jesus’ story didn’t reject the invitation outright—they just had other priorities. That’s often how it works for us too. It’s not that we don’t care—it’s that other things quietly take first place.

Questions

What distractions tend to crowd out time with God? What excuses do I find myself making? What’s one small shift I could make this week?

Prayer

Breath Prayer: Use this when you feel pulled in too many directions.

Inhale: God who calls me

Exhale: I choose You first

Day 5 — Come to the Table

Scripture

John 6:68 (NIV) "Simon Peter answered him, 'Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.'"

Isaiah 55:2 (NIV) "Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare."

Reflection

At the end of the day, we all choose where we go to be filled. Peter recognized something simple but powerful—there’s nowhere else that offers real life. Jesus isn’t just another option. He’s the source.

Questions

Where have I been going instead of going to Jesus? Do I really believe He has what I need? What step can I take to come to Him more consistently?

Prayer

Lord, You are the source of life. Draw me back to You again and again. Help me choose You daily.

As you move through this week, pay attention to what you’re feeding your life. If you’re in Tallahassee, we’d love for you to join us Sunday as we keep following Jesus together.
